Most herbal teas are caffeine free and so they are a popular beverage at bedtime. Many people drink herbal tea when they are sick due to the healing properties of various herbs. For example, individuals who have a cold might drink peppermint tea, lemon tea, or eucalyptus tea. Most herbal teas are soothing to the throat and since some herbs promote decongestion it makes sense that those with a cold or stuffy nose would find comfort in a hot cup of herbal tea.

Some people just like herbal tea remedies and they do not drink herbal tea because they don’t feel well but because they like the taste and they want to drink a healthy beverage. Some people sweeten herbal teas but many people like them without any sweetener as they enjoy a calorie free beverage. Most herbal teas are viewed as a healthy alternative to coffee, black or orange pekoe tea, and sodas.

Just some of the herbs used to make herbal tea include chamomile, eucalyptus, peppermint, ginger, lemon grass, and kava. There are many more and many of the herbal teas have certain benefits, such as calming or soothing the throat. Of course, you don’t have to be anxious or ill to enjoy a steaming cup of herbal tea. Most herbal tea remedies are made from all natural ingredients and so they promote good health and well being on that stand alone.
