Herbal Remedies for Arthritis

Probably the best herbal remedies for arthritis grow wild in many fields across the entire United States.  The plant is called Stinging Nettle. All you have to do is grasp the plant with a gloved hand. It will sting you; and a few minutes later, the arthritis pain will subside. This remedy has been dated back to biblical times and it has helped thousands of people over the years. Grabbing the plants is called “Urtication.”

There are many botanical books to help you identify this plant if you would like to give this a try.  Any time that I read about a treatment without medication; I will try it for relief .

The spice “Ginger” that you have right in your spice rack is another good treatment to relieve arthritis. The good thing with this is there are no side affects. Ginger can be consumed as a tea  to enjoy.

Turmeric; also right in your cupboard; contains curcumin ; which relieves pain and inflammation in the joints. This can be used in spicy dishes or as a tea.

Pineapple is very acidic and helps to relieve inflammation in the joints. They contain bromelaine.

Red Pepper contains capsaicin which helps to mask the pain in our joints.

Red Pepper also contains salicylates that are aspirin-like and  helps to relieve pain.

Oregano is a wonderful spice that contains powerful antioxidants to help relieve painful joints. It can be used in many of your foods to help you; if you have arthritis.

Willow bark  was the plant that aspirin originally came from. It contains the chemical called salicin. Many people depend on aspirin for their painful arthritis every day. The plant has smaller doses  when consumed as a tea,so would be easier on your stomach.

Licorice has anti-inflammatory  properties and also a delicious flavor for your tea.

Brazil nuts have some of the same pain relieving effects that ibuprofen contains.

Some great veggies are: broccoli, asparagus,cabbage,cauliflower,potatoes,and tomatoes.

Some fruits that are very helpful are avocados,grapefruit,oranges,peaches,and watermelon.
