Gout Herbal Remedies

These gout herbal remedies are dedicated to my brother Bill Botting who suffers terrible,excruciating episodes of this malady.It is a form of arthritis and is caused by a buildup of uric acid thay crystallizes in the blood;it causes swelling; usually the big toe. Gout is hereditary. 95% of  the  sufferers are men  are men over 30. 10-20% of all americans have elevated uric acid, but only 3 in 1,000 have gout.

Celery is said to be the best thing you can eat to keep the uric acid levels down in your bloodstream. You can eat celery stalks or take celery seed extracts.

Chiso is a weedy mint from asia, commonly grown behind japanese restaurants and added to sushi. Chiso can be mixed with licorice root as a tea to cut down acid levels.

Turmeric can be eaten in your foods, drank as a tea, or taken as capsules. It helps relieve inflammation and pain naturally.

Avocados are very good for treating gout. They are very high in calories but should still be added to your diet. Cherries and pineapple are both great fruits to add to your diet.

Cat’s claw and Devil’s claw are two hjerbs that may help with inflammation and pain of an attack.

Oat tea comes from the green tops of the oat plant and is said to have a diuretic effect that lowers levels of uric acid .

Olive leaf tea increases urination and flushes uric acid from the body.

Stinging nettle is a strong natural antibiotic  and you can drink it as a tea.

When you have an attack; reach for ibuprofen because it is the best inflammation reliever.

Charcoal poultices help draw toxins from the body. Mix 1/2 cup powdered activated charcoal with a few tbsp. ground flaxseed and enough hot water to make a paste. Apply for 4-8 hrs. Charcoal stains,so take care with it.
